LT Charles Brown Scouting Report
Charles Brown 6′6 285 USC Senior
vs. Notre Dame 2009
Game Analysis:
- Each week is getting better vs the run/ gets out to the second level extremely fast to block LBs
- Elite athleticism and footwork in pass protection
-The one time that the DE went inside for a bull rush however, Brown gave up a sack
- He has impressed me enough to rank him ahead of players like Bryan Bulaga and Trent Williams
vs. Cal 2009
Game Analysis: Brown is a very athletic OT and it really shows when he pulls because his speed is very impressive. He is not a great run blocker yet but did a decent job against Cal. Where he really shined in this game however was pass protection. He has a great kick step and kept freshman QB Matt Barkley relatively clean for most of the game. He was not beat to the outside or the inside in this game.
vs Ohio State 2009
Game Analysis: Brown’s athleticism REALLY impressed me. USC pulled him a bunch of times to block for WR screens and RB sweeps and he looks like a RB when he sprints to the sideline for a block. He has a great kick step and is very quick, but like most LTs, he could use a stronger punch. But that is nitpicking; he had a solid game and is a possible 1st round prospect.
