DE Everson Griffen Scouting Report

September 19, 2009 By: DraftParty Category: College Football

Everson Griffen 6′3 265 USC Junior

vs Notre Dame 2009

Highlights: 7

Game Analysis:

- Fantastic size and runs like a LB/great bullrush due to size-strength combo/ had a huge game with 3 sacks

- Rushes standing up at times (could be a fit at 3-4 OLB in the NFL)

- Awesome spin move for his 1st sack/ quick inside move for his 2nd sack/ speed rush around the edge for his 3rd

vs Ohio State 2009

Highlights: 7

Game Analysis: Griffen has great size for a DE, a solid motor, and does a fantastic job setting the edge on run plays. He is quick and disengages blocks very well to go make the play. However, so far I do not see an elite pass rusher that can beat you on a speed rush or a bull rush…yet. His 1 sack came when he was being blocked by a TE. Griffen brushed him aside and made the play. When USC wasn’t bringing him off the edge, he was being used in coverage a lot and as a spy on QB Pryor.
