ILB Micah Johnson Scouting Report

October 31, 2009 By: DraftParty Category: College Football

Micah Johnson  6′2 258 Kentucky Senior

vs. Florida 2009

Highlights: 5  Lowlights: 4

Game Analysis: Johnson is a relatively fast ILB who was all over the field for Kentucky and made a ton of plays against Florida. None of those plays however were impact splash plays… they were just solid tackles past the line of scrimmage. He does not look like a great athlete and might be restricted to a 3-4 scheme as an ILB.

DT Marvin Austin Scouting Report

October 31, 2009 By: DraftParty Category: College Football

Marvin Austin 6′3 305 North Carolina Junior

vs FSU 2009

Highlights (more like OK-lights): 10  Lowlights: 1

Game Analysis:

- Looked slow for a large part of the game/ kept rushing to the outside of the OT for no reason (he just ran himself out of the play)

- He had a quiet game/ mostly due to being double teamed most of the night

-Stout run defender/ shows great quickness at times but inconsistent

- Had a fumble recovery due to being at the right place at the right time

- Surprising lateral movement for such a big fella

DE Greg Hardy Scouting Report

October 31, 2009 By: DraftParty Category: College Football

Greg Hardy 6′4 265 Ole Miss Senior

vs Alabama 2009

Highlights: 7  Lowlights: 1

Game Analysis:

- Great closing speed on stunt to knock down the QB

- Atheltic enough to avoid a RB block and finish to get a QB sack

- Occasional laziness leads to getting stoned by the OT

- Made a play on a screen pass despite being double-teamed

- Good quickness and great use of hands to go inside of the OT/ good hustle all game

vs South Carolina 2009

Highlights:Lowlights: 2

Game Analysis: Hardy usually disappoints me with lazy play but he played a high-effort game against South Carolina. Ole Miss kept trying to free him up on stunts but they failed most of the time. Still, Hardy was able to bat down a couple of passes and had some really great rushes late in the game. His power is evident in his rushes as he is able to bull-rush OT’s backward. He showed good hustle and speed being able to chase down a run all the way across the field from him. A fully healthy and hard working Hardy is the #1 DE in this class.
