CB Brandon Ghee Scouting Report

September 12, 2009 By: DraftParty Category: College Football

Brandon Ghee 6′0 190 Wake Forest Senior

vs Baylor 2009

Highlights: 2 Lowlights: 2

Game Analysis: Ghee is now the main man in the Wake Forest secondary with Alphonso Smith and Chip Vaughn leaving for the NFL. First thing I noticed is that he does have very good speed, and he showed it when he flew in for a great tackle on a WR screen in the 1st quarter. He was beat early on a deep throw but he locked it up from there. While he is not afraid to get physical, he will struggle to get off the blocks of big WRs.

LB Travis Lewis Scouting Report

September 12, 2009 By: DraftParty Category: College Football

Travis Lewis 6′2 232 Oklahoma Sophmore

vs BYU 2009

Highlights: 12

Game Analysis: Lewis is only a sophomore but he is eligible for the 2010 draft and if he were to come out, I believe he would be the #2 ranked OLB. He is a fantastic athlete who is a monster against the run. He hits the FB with authority and stands him up. He can fill holes easily to take down the RB with perfect-form tackles. Lewis is fundamentally sound in pretty much all areas of the game as he does the little things right.

LB Joe Pawelek Scouting Report

September 12, 2009 By: DraftParty Category: College Football

Joe Pawelek 6′2 240 Baylor Senior

vs Wake Forest 2009

Highlights: 6 Lowlights: 7

Game Analysis: Pawelek had some flashes of greatness against Wake Forest, but overall he had an extremely disappointing game. The first thing that stands out when watching him is that he can’t fight off OL blocks. He absorbs the hit of the OL and gets driven back 10 yards. If he does not improve in that area, he won’t be draftable. I actually have a lot of negative things to say about his play in this game. He thinks too much, he looks stiff, slow, and robotic. Despite all that, he did have a very athletic interception down the middle of the field and showed nice burst running through the offensive line for a sack. I don’t want to call him soft, but he needs to improve his tenacity and shedding ability right away.

DT Boo Robinson Scouting Report

September 12, 2009 By: DraftParty Category: College Football

Boo Robinson 6′2 295 Wake Forest Senior

vs Baylor 2009

Highlights: 4 Lowlights: 2

Game Analysis:  A lot of people have Boo as a 3-4 NT but I think he is better suited to play in the 4-3; especially if his listed weight of 295 lbs is correct. Baylor double teamed Boo a lot in this game and he was actually used as a QB Spy quite often. He did not have much of an impact but he showed remarkable nimbleness being able to chase the Baylor QB out of the pocket a couple of times. He did not look as good as I had hoped against the run as he was pushed back by the OG a couple of times.

DT Allen Bailey Scouting Report

September 12, 2009 By: DraftParty Category: College Football

Allen Bailey 6′4 288 Miami Junior

vs. Oklahoma 2009

Highlights: 2  Lowlights: 3

Game Analysis: Bailey played left defensive end in this game due to injuries to the Miami d-line and struggled for the most part. He had a very quiet game and was stoned a lot by the Oklahoma RT on pass rushes. He simply does not have the pass rush moves to get after the QB. He did have two highlights, including a sack, but both plays were a result of great coverage that made the QB hold on to the ball for a long time. I will say this however, Bailey looks very intimidating with his size and physique. He will definitely be better off coming back for next season if he does not develop a pass rush in the next few weeks.

vs FSU 2009

Highlights: 9 Lowlights: 3

Stats: 1 sack

Game Analysis: Here is a guy to keep an eye on because he could very well emerge as the #3 DT by draft day (if he comes out early). He is a physical freak that is just learning the DT position (he originally played LB and DE). He looks like a poor man’s Gerald McCoy at the moment with how athletic he is on stretch runs and how strong he is when taking OGs head on. FSU double teamed him a lot and he was subbed out quite a bit in order to keep him fresh. He did not show too much as a pass rusher due to him being doubled a lot but he was a monster in the run game. However, he let two straight long runs go right by him in the 4th quarter because he could not disengage from the offensive linemen to make the play. As he learns to get off blocks better and develops his instincts, he should develop into a high draft pick.
